Slave poem

The whip cracked
The hand smacked
Blood splattered
for them nothing mattered

Spirit's shattered
Chains clattered
Fates dreaded
for them everything mattered

The bidders raged
Their skin aged
Bodies caged
Minds Frayed
for us they mattered

They escaped and changed their fate
Hope was gained
Life was re-obtained
for them nothing but freedom mattered
